His 49 foot order of carpet, which was acknowledged as such, arrived in two pieces, one 15 foot 9 inches.
There was no call to consult with him, no communication whatsover.
Most likely what happened is a flaw was cut from the carpet and he got his 49 footer, without the flaw but in sections.
Either you accept the carpet like this or send it back.
The inspection and roll up section in the mill only sees a 49 foot order, they send it out in lengths that make up 49 feet and not in one section because no one said it had to be all one piece.
No one has communicated this to them so out the door it goes.
On another job one of his installers reported back to him that the job he installed the day before had an 8 inch diameter grease spot on the face of the carpet which they had to work around.
Being that this was a large black circle it would have been easily visible to the final inspector at the mill.
They may have seen it and not cared or seen it and figured someone would clean it off the carpet.
Out the door that went too.
This product should never have shipped.
Our dealer receives a woven wilton area rug, in the field of the rug they find a flaw when they inspect the product.
Fortunately they caught this and reported it before the rug was to be delivered 100 miles away.
Most often, as we said earlier, you have to install the carpet, work around the problem or file a claim only to go through the entire process again.
None of this helps the industrys reputa
